The Master's Program in Computer Engineering
is an academic graduate education program that aims to provide in-depth knowledge and research competence in the field of computer engineering, covering both theoretical and applied studies. The program aims to enable students to conduct scientific research, develop innovative solutions to field-specific problems, and specialize in their academic or industrial careers.
Students wishing to be admitted to the program must comply with the university's academic and legal regulations and complete the application processes determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Application requirements are announced by
the Graduate School
before each semester. Students enrolled in an equivalent program may apply for lateral transfer, and these applications are evaluated based on the student's individual circumstances. The normal duration of the program is 4 semesters. The thesis-based master's program in Computer Engineering consists of at least seven courses, including a compulsory course on scientific research and publication ethics, a seminar course, a specialization course, and thesis work, totaling no less than 21 credits. The seminar course and thesis work are not credited and are evaluated as pass or fail. To pass credit-bearing courses, students must earn a minimum grade of 70. The thesis-based master's program consists of a minimum of 120 ECTS credits, provided that one academic year consists of no less than 60 ECTS credits. In addition, students must conduct original research in their thesis work and successfully defend their thesis in order to graduate. The aforementioned conditions must be completed within a maximum of six semesters.
Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a Master's Degree and, in addition, a Diploma Supplement. Prepared in accordance with the model developed by the European Commission, the Council of Europe, and UNESCO/CEPES, the Diploma Supplement contains information such as the graduation date, diploma number, level of degree obtained, scope of the program, and areas of application, as well as explanations about the university's education and training principles and the national education system. Graduates can find employment opportunities in academic institutions, the private sector, or public organizations in many fields such as biometrics, cloud computing, embedded systems, image processing, robotics, database management, data architecture, and artificial intelligence.
