Exchange Programes

ERASMUS+ EXCHANGE PROGRAM

It is a European Union program that encourages cooperation between higher education institutions and facilitates the international mobility of university students. It provides non-repayable financial support to enable higher education institutions to develop and implement joint projects and to carry out short-term student and staff exchanges.

The Erasmus program covers the 27 member states of the European Union, which are part of the Lifelong Learning Program, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway, which are members of the European Economic Area but not the European Union, and Turkey, which is a candidate country for the European Union. It has been implemented in European Union countries since 1987. With approximately 1.1 million student exchanges as of 2003, it can be said that it is the most attractive program among the EU Education and Youth Programs. The Erasmus program is open to higher education institutions. For all activities to be carried out within the framework of the Erasmus program, at least one of the parties must be an institution from an EU member country.
